REGION JHARKHAND - Diocesan Directors Meeting 6th - 7th August 2016

A two days meeting of Pontifical Mission Societies was organized at Social Development Centre Ranchi from 6th to 7th August 2016. The meeting was to apprise on the PMS and other related issues to the Diocesan Directors of Pontifical Mission Organization of Jharkhand Region and their associates. The Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Ranchi, Most Rev Telesphore Bilung inaugurated the meeting. In his inaugural message he invited every one present to carry forward the legacy of the Apostle of Chotanagpur Fr Livens with great zeal and enthusiasm. He asked to inculcate in the children the love and zeal for missionary work. He invited the Diocesan Directors of PMO to make elaborate arrangements to celebrate the missionary childhood day and Krusveer day in the parishes and the institutions in a meaningful way. He also advised them to get the parents interested in the activities of their children and thus take forward the missionary movement started in Chotanagpur by our forefathers.

Fr Faustine Lobo, National Director of Pontifical Mission Organization (PMO), INDIA, who spent two days explaining in detail the purpose, aims and objectives of Pontifical Mission Societies was present on the dais during the inauguration. Fr Edwin Coelho, the Jharkhand Regional Director of Pontifical Mission Societies welcomed the Bishop, Fr. Faustine Lobo and the participants for the meeting. At the end of the two days meeting, the Diocesan Directors of PMO along with their associates made detailed programmes to rejuvenate the Missionary Childhood Associations and its activities in their dioceses.
