REGION KERALA: Regional Mission Team established in Kerala Region (5th to 7th Nov 2016)

The PMO along with the Commission for Evangelization of the CCBI conducted a Seminar for the Regional Mission team of the Kerala Region. The Seminar was organised by the Deputy Secretary General of the KRCLC, the Bishops Council of Kerala.

In all, 29 participants spent two days deliberating on the possibility of animating the priests, the religious and the laity on missions. The focus was on helping every Christian to be a missionary. Fr Faustine L Lobo, the National Director PMO, spoke on the 'Mission Spirituality' and made a presentation of the Pontifical Mission Societies with a special reference to the "Missionary Childhood Associations" (MCA). He stressed on the need to animate the children to create missionary zeal among them, making the children "Little Missionaries".

Fr Paneer Selvam, the Secretary for Commission for Evangelization, beautifully presented the concept of 'New Evangelization' and helped the participants to draw up a plan for animating on Mission in Kerala Region.

A team of resource persons was drawn up to facilitate the process of animating the Diocesan Mission Teams in Kerala under the leadership of Fr Francis Xavier. The team took upon itself to strengthen the Missionary Childhood Associations in the region bringing all the children into the MCAs.

Bishop Selvister P, gave a beautiful key note address to the Seminar explaining the need of missionaries in Kerala and elsewhere in the world.
