Dear National Director and collaborators of the Pontifical Mission Societies, As you have learned from Fides, I am happy to announce that on May 1st, the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples appointed Rev. Father Dinh Anh Nhue Nguyen, O.F.M. Conv., to the office of Secretary General of the Pontifical Missionary Union as well as Director of the International Center for Missionary Animation (CIAM). Fr. Nguyen will also be Director of Agenzia Fides.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Fr. Nguyen, accompanied by our prayers, so that the Lord may bless and sustain him in this new and important mission that has been entrusted to him in service to the Church. I am certain that due to his experience, and with the collaboration of us all, he will be able to effectively carry out this task.
